Wet & Dry Scrubbers
Dry scrubbers use a physical separation process to remove particles from the gas stream. Dry scrubbers are typically composed of filters that catch and remove particulates. The most common type of dry scrubber is the fabric filter, which uses a layer of cloth or other porous material to capture particles.
Wet scrubbers use a chemical reaction to remove particles from the gas stream. Wet scrubbers typically use an aqueous solution (water) to capture and dissolve particles. The most common type of wet scrubber is the mist eliminator, which uses high-pressure water jets to create a mist that dissolves particles from the gas stream.
